Eligibility Criteria :

Before applying, ensure you meet the following requirements:

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be between 17.5 to 21 years (born between Oct 1, 2005, and April 1, 2009).

  • Marital Status: Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.

  • Application Fee: ₹250 (plus bank charges), payable via UPI, Net Banking, or Credit/Debit cards.

Selection Process

The recruitment will be conducted in two phases:

Phase I: Online Common Entrance Exam (CEE) – Computer Based Test.


Phase II: Recruitment Rally (Physical Fitness Test, Physical Measurement, and Medical Examination).

Phase III: Medical Examination  

 

Phase 1: Online Common Entrance Exam (CEE) :

The first hurdle is the Computer Based Test (CBT). Candidates must pass this to be shortlisted for the physical rally.

Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme

  • Mode: Online (Objective Multiple Choice Questions).

  • Duration: 60 minutes (General Duty/Tradesman) to 120 minutes (Technical/Clerk).

  • Negative Marking: 0.50 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

  • Passing Marks: Generally 35% to 40% depending on the category.

Phase 2: Recruitment Rally (PFT & PMT) :

Candidates who clear the merit list of Phase 1 are called for the physical round. This phase is "Qualifying" in nature but carries marks that determine your final merit.

1. Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

This is the most critical part of the recruitment process.

  • 1.6 Km Run:

    • Group I (Up to 5 min 30 sec): 60 Marks

    • Group II (5 min 31 sec to 5 min 45 sec): 48 Marks

  • Beam (Pull-Ups):

    • 10 Pull-ups: 40 Marks

    • 9 Pull-ups: 33 Marks

    • 8 Pull-ups: 27 Marks

    • 7 Pull-ups: 21 Marks

    • 6 Pull-ups: 16 Marks

  • 9 Feet Ditch: Must jump across (Qualifying only).

  • Zig-Zag Balance: Must walk across to test agility (Qualifying only).

2. Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

Your physical standards must match the requirements of your specific ARO (Army Recruiting Office). Generally, the standards are:

  • Height: 160 cm to 170 cm (Varies by Region/State).

  • Chest: 77 cm (+ 5 cm expansion).

  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per Army Medical Standards.

3. Medical Examination  

1. General Physical Standards

  • Mental Health: Must be free from any history of mental breakdown, epilepsy, or psychiatric disorders.

  • Speech: No impediment of speech (e.g., stammering).

  • Hearing: Must be able to hear a forced whisper from a distance of 610 cm (20 feet) with each ear separately.

  • Ears: Eardrums must be intact. No discharge, perforation, or excessive wax (candidates are advised to get their ears professionally cleaned before the rally).

2. Eye & Vision Requirements

Vision standards are strict and vary slightly by category.

  • Distant Vision: * GD / Tradesman: 6/6 in the better eye and 6/9 in the worse eye (without glasses).

    • Technical / Clerk: 6/6 in both eyes is preferred (correctable with glasses in some cases).

  • Color Vision: Must be CP-II or CP-III (able to recognize White, Red, and Green). Color blindness is a permanent rejection.

  • Other Conditions: No squint, night blindness, or watery eyes.

3. Dental Standards

  • Dental Points: A minimum of 14 Dental Points is mandatory.

  • Teeth: Must be healthy, well-aligned, and free from severe decay or pyorrhea.

  • Gums: Must be in good health with no evidence of bleeding or infection.

4. Internal & External Checks

  • Chest: No deformity. An X-ray is often taken to rule out Tuberculosis (TB) or other lung issues.

  • Organs: No enlargement of the liver or spleen. No stones in the kidneys or gall bladder (confirmed via Ultrasound).

  • Skin: No chronic skin diseases like Vitiligo, Eczema, or Leucoderma.

  • Tattoos: Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on the inner face of the forearms or the back (dorsal) side of the hand. Tribal candidates have exceptions based on their customs.

5. Common Rejection Points (The "Big 4")

Most candidates are rejected due to these avoidable or structural issues:

  1. Knock Knees: Knees should not touch while standing at attention.

  2. Flat Foot: There must be a visible arch in the sole of the foot.

  3. Carry Angle: The elbow angle should be between 15° to 18°.

  4. Varicose Veins: Swollen or twisted veins in the legs are not allowed.


Important Note: If a candidate is found unfit, they are given a Review Medical Board (RMB) date. They must report to a designated Military Hospital within 14 to 21 days for a specialist's re-evaluation.
